How to Build Your ADHD Teen’s Executive Function Skills (Without Nagging)

Parenting a teen with ADHD can sometimes feel like a race against time. You know your teen needs skills like planning, organization, time management, and follow-through to become an independent adult. But how do you help them develop those skills without constantly reminding, nagging, or telling them what to do?

In this episode, I'm sharing two simple but powerful parenting strategies: “We Do” and “Ask, Don't Tell.”

I'll show you how to use everyday moments—from homework and getting out the door to cooking and learning to drive—to strengthen your teen's executive functioning skills.

You'll learn why doing things with your teen is often more effective than expecting them to figure things out on their own, and how replacing reminders with thoughtful questions can help your teen become a more confident, independent problem-solver.

The goal isn't just to get your teen to complete today's tasks. It's to help them develop the skills they'll need for a lifetime.

Keep calm and parent strong! I'm always in your corner, wishing you all A's in your every parenting endeavor.
